Valley Orthopaedic Bone & Joint are honored to serve as a permanent training facility for the The Valley Consortium for Medical Education (VCME). Our mandate is to offer a cutting edge vision for the Central Valley, while offering a tremendous educational environment for these medical scholars. Our physicians’ take great pride in offering their knowledge and education to these ambitious future surgeons; SOSMC is looking forward to supporting the growth of this exceptionally profound program.
The Valley Consortium for Medical Education was founded in 2009 as a non-profit, community benefit organization to create and foster graduate and undergraduate medical education in the Central Valley. Located in Modesto, California, the Consortium currently has participation from the major health care organizations in Stanislaus County, and has affiliation to University of California, Davis School of Medicine, and is linked to the proposed University of California, Merced School of Medicine. They also have an affiliation with the Midwestern Osteopathic Post-graduate Training Institute (OPTI). VCME has affiliations with several medical schools and offer Core and Elective Rotations for MS III and IV students.

I am pleased to be the founding director for our AOAO-accredited Ortho Surgery residency, affiliated with Midwestern University/AZCOM Osteopathic Post-graduate Training Institute (OPTI).
I joined Valley Orthopedic Surgery Residency (VOSR) in 2012 after serving for twelve years on the orthopedic teaching faculty of the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and The Ohio State University – University Medical Center Ortho Residency programs. As a Trauma and Hand Reconstructive Ortho surgeon, I understand that rigorous training is necessary for these aspiring physicians’ professional success. I am confident that we offer a great set of faculty and fantastic facilities, with a wide range of surgical pathology, to meet all of the training requirements.
Training includes clinical placement in an ACS-certified Level-II Trauma Center, with a significant amount of orthopedic injuries, robust arthroscopic practice and complete state-of-the art surgical services. Pediatric orthopedic training is acquired from extensive rotations at Children’s Hospital of Central California. Finally, the beautiful surroundings in Northern California make this a premier location for residency training. SOSMC welcomes these passionate scholars with open arms!
